Job Description
Medelec Switchgear Ltd with over 45 years of experience in the design and manufacture of air-insulated medium voltage switchgear, compact and mobile substations, control panels, low voltage distribution boards, automatic transfer switches and automatic voltage regulators are seeking to recruit a Tendering and Business Development Engineer within the Commercial department to fill this vacancy.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for preparing technical and commercial proposals for medium voltage substation projects.
- Conduct thorough technical and commercial evaluations of tender documents and specifications.
- Work closely with our Engineering and Manufacturing teams and customers to understand their requirements and offer the best solutions.
- Also, coordinate with external stakeholders including our suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the feasibility and profitability of our bids.
- Manage project scope, timelines, and budgets throughout the tendering process.
- Provide technical expertise and support to the sales team during the bidding process.
- Stay up to date on the latest industry trends and technologies in medium voltage switchgear.
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Have at least 3 years of experience in medium voltage air-insulated switchgear, preferably in a tendering environment.
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of switchgear design, specifications, and standards.
- Are proficient in Microsoft Office and other software tools.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Are a confident negotiator with a proven ability to close deals.
- Are a team player with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
- Are able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Are willing to travel occasionally for site visits, meetings and trade fairs.
