Job Description
We are currently seeking a Trade Technician (Shipwright) to join our team.
The Shipwright reports directly to Shipwright’s Supervisor.
Education / Experience:
- He should possess an ordinary level of education complimented with a carpentry / joinery / steelworks certificate or an apprenticeship in the related subjects
- He must be able to communicate in English language
He should be required to successfully carry out the following works:
- Must abide by all company’s Health and Safety regulations and procedures
- To adhere to MIYY policy described in the quality management policy
- Attend future training as required by the company
- Work as a team player
- Work on his own initiative with minimal supervision within set time frames
- Interpret various drawings related to works
- Carpentry works including manufacture / repair of wooden construction hull-related works, beams, frames, bulkheads, floors etc.
- Joinery works including manufacture / repair of interior and exterior furniture works
- Teak deck laying / repairs and re-caulking
- Various steel / aluminum hull construction repairs including frames, stringers, floors, hull plating and other related works to the yacht repair
- Various stainless steel works including manufacture / repair and polishing of stainless steel items
- Assist in the building of yacht slipping cradles and perform slipping and unslipping operations
- Assist in thermoplastic tenting
- Assist in scaffolding structures
- Assist hoisting and positioning of yachts on hard standing area
- Slip maintenance-related works
- Carry out routine maintenance of machinery / equipment he uses
- Keep housekeeping standard levels high as per company policy
- Keep a pleasant and smart appearance especially when in contact with boat owners
- Assist other trades as required
