Job Description

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, hand tools, or power tools.
  • Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them and repair manuals, as necessary.
  • Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices.
  • Order parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogues or suppliers.
  • Perform his / her duties according to HACCP system principles.
  • Carry out his / her duties safely and responsibly.
  • Aid and assist in the daily duties and requirements of the department.
  • Maintain a high level of product quality and performance in his / her work,
  • Maintain a high level of efficiency in the performance of his / her duties.
  • Provides direction for all day-to-day operations.
  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; demonstrates honesty / integrity; leads by example.
  • Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Serving as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviours.
  • Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees.
  • Ensure that the area within his / her responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed.

Food Safety Requirements / Responsibilities:

  • Must be in possession of a valid food handling license (A).
  • Observe and follow hygiene, health and safety standards and monitor that Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations are observed by all at all times.
  • Maintains and monitors quality by conducting frequent quality control checks according to all HACCP regulations and procedures.
  • Monitor to ensure that all traceability sheets are filled in correctly.
  • Participate and support company-sponsored initiatives such as General Quality Standard (GQS), HACCP and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Maintain a high level of HACCP and ISO 22000 standards in the performance of his / her duties.
  • Observe all HACCP product and environment rules and report to superiors any practices or products which are not according to HACCP rules.

Qualifications:

  • Good command of written and spoken English and numerical skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Electrical license A.
  • Must have AVSEC security clearance at all times.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to communicate orally with customers, management, and other co-workers, both individually and collectively.
  • Regular use of the telephone for communication is essential.
  • Adequate aptitude to solve a wide range of operational problems

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in a hot / cold temperature environment.
