AIM Enterprises Ltd is Malta’s leading supplier and service provider for the automation industry, is expanding its team and currently looking to recruit a Project Sales Engineer on a full-time basis.
The chosen candidate is to see to the coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget and scope. The role requires comprehensive knowledge of the company’s product portfolio, sound electrical engineering knowledge as well as excellent organization and leadership skills. The chosen candidate shall report directly to the Director and thus needs to immerse themselves in the execution of the totalized process, from meeting up with the clients to the design and quote phase of the solution, as well as operations management. The Projects Sales Engineer therefore must be passionate about company success and take pride in having ownership for his role and daily duties.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare for business development meetings; extract data from system or current processes, analyse sales and market potential and present to the Director proposed sales strategies to target clients for automation project sales.
- Preparing sales pitches and presentations based on agreed strategies keeping in mind supplier demands and sales targets.
- Noting important aspects discussed in the mentioned sales pitch meetings and creating an action plan in order to follow upon.
- Establish system requirements by converting customer requirements into product and design specifications. Develop innovative and creative solutions and prepare offers in an efficient and effective way and within set timeframes; this includes negotiating with suppliers for best prices and lead times.
- Once awarded, assess and assign tasks to the Engineering and Technical team according to competencies to ensure proper development and execution by tying workflow to schedule.
- Update the technical planner with daily updates on the development and progress of jobs and projects and follow up with the team with daily stand-up meetings as well as on-site.
Competencies and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
- Experience with managing projects and teams.
- Sound technical knowledge in Automation Engineering, familiar with the standards of IEC 61131-3.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and programming languages.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with an assertive yet positive attitude.
- Highly organised, self-driven and takes ownership of the role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Maltese and English.
- Driving license category.
