The Cumberland Boutique Hotel, located on St. John Street, stands as a landmark offering tranquil surroundings and sweeping views of the Grand Harbor.

The NEU Collective takes pride in its diverse food and beverage offerings, showcasing authentic Mediterranean flavours. Grana Restaurant, located in Sliema and Valletta, provides the perfect setting to indulge in delicious Italian gourmet cuisine and share memorable moments with friends and family.

The Barista is tasked with skilfully preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages to customers, aiming to deliver exceptional positive experiences at The NEU Collective. 

Responsibilities
Extend a warm and courteous welcome to guests upon their arrival.

  • Prepare and present a diverse range of coffee and espresso beverages in accordance with established quality guidelines.
  • Safely and efficiently operate coffee-making equipment, including coffee machines and grinders.
  • Offer knowledgeable and attentive service to patrons, addressing inquiries and providing recommendations as required.
  • Ensure cleanliness and orderliness in the coffee preparation area by sanitizing surfaces, cleaning equipment and utensils, and disposing of waste appropriately.
  • Regularly monitor and replenish inventory of coffee beans, syrups, and other essential supplies.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage protocols.
  • Professionally address and resolve customer complaints or issues, escalating matters to management when necessary.
  • Maintain strict adherence to company policies and procedures, including compliance with dress code standards and punctuality requirements.

The potential candidate will ideally possess the following skills and qualities:

  • Previous experience as a barista is a must.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and interact positively with customers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and serving beverages.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Food handling certificate.
