Job Summary
As the Breakfast Chef, your primary responsibility will involve overseeing the breakfast service and providing support during lunch service.

You will be responsible for the setup and cleanup of the kitchen after breakfast, maintaining impeccable cleanliness and hygiene standards. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper storage and maintenance of kitchen stocks to meet optimum conditions. Your commitment to culinary excellence and kitchen organization will be essential in delivering a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow management instructions and carry out assigned duties
  • Prepare, cook, and present breakfast dishes according to management quality standards
  • Collaborate with fellow Chefs to ensure the food served meets established standards
  • Maintain compliance with health and hygiene regulations, ensuring a safe and clean environment
  • Adhere to hotel rules, regulations, and national legislation (e.g., health and safety, COSHH)
  • Handle stock rotation during deliveries and monitor food labeling and temperature control
  • Be knowledgeable about food allergens and dietary requirements
  • Keep work areas clean, prevent cross-contamination, and ensure high sanitation standards
  • Maintain consistent high-quality food production, preparation, and presentation
  • Oversee breakfast service for timely delivery of breakfast items
  • Efficiently prepare and cook food, even when unsupervised
  • Reduce food waste and minimize kitchen costs, including breakages
  • Ensure a hygienic environment is maintained at all times
  • Monitor food stocks and place necessary orders
  • Responsible for daily breakfast preparation and advance preparation for smooth breakfast service each day

Qualifications and Assets:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role
  • Capability to adapt to a flexible shift schedule
  • Proficient in meeting deadlines, adjusting priorities, and maintaining composure under pressure
  • Willingness to acquire new skills and a keen aptitude for learning
  • Adapt to multitasking and performing efficiently in high-pressure situations
  • Possession of a culinary school diploma
  • Proficiency in a wide range of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and processes
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to establish rapport with others
  • Effective listening skills and adeptness in conveying ideas verbally and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for translating challenges into practical solutions
  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently with minimal supervision, and tolerant of routine problem-solving
