Job Description

SA Consult, a leading property and business law firm is seeking to recruit Lawyers on a part-time and full-time basis to work mainly in property law with some overlap in commercial and business law.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To draft commercial and property contracts on behalf of the firm and/or clients and ensure deadlines are met.
  • To liaise with notaries, legal advisers, architects, and other professionals as may be required.
  • Keep abreast of legal developments, particularly in relation to property, real estate, and commercial law.
  • Provide legal services in connection with high-profile transactions for developers, principals, contractors, leading consultants, and advisors.
  • To liaise with our partners who direct litigation in the Courts of Law.
  • To take a proactive role in advising the firm in connection with the enactment of relevant laws, issue of legal notices and all policies related to property law.
  • To supervise pre and post-publication of deeds procedure and see to the drawing up of all necessary documents in connection with such procedure.
  • Liaise with various governmental and non-governmental organisations , mainly Lands Authority, Planning Authority, MBR, financial institutions besides others.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Manage in-house legal projects such as drafting and uploading position papers and /or articles for the website.

Candidate Profile:

  • In possession of a Law degree from the University of Malta with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role will be given preference.
  • Newly graduates will be considered if they have experience in contract drafting within a Notarial or legal firm.
  • Detailed understanding of Maltese Property Law.
  • Detailed knowledge of various development legislation and planning laws.
  • Experience in drafting commercial and property agreements within a law firm or Corporate Legal team.
  • Strong command of spoken and written business English and Maltese; proficiency in French is advantageous.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Thinks and acts strategically.
