Job Description
Mekanika is a leading operator in the building and engineering services industry, specialising in mechanical and electrical contracting, HVAC solutions, lifts and escalators, industrial products and facilities management. Due to further expansion, the above-mentioned career opportunity has now arisen.
We are seeking to employ an HVAC Supervisor who will join our existing team.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Supervise and lead a team of HVAC Technicians;
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems;
- Assist superior in meeting material and labour budgets for a given project;
- Responsible for the distribution and usage of tools within the team;
- Continuously monitor work to ensure that progress is according to plans;
- Supervise work carried out by subordinates on an ongoing basis;
- Assist superior in the review of all necessary documentation;
- Monitor the procurement of all materials and equipment;
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams;
- Train subordinates within training budget parameters;
- Ensure that subordinates’ performance is assessed on a regular basis.
The ideal applicant for this post should:
- Have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role;
- Advanced diploma in HVACR MQF level 4 or equivalent;
- Project management certification of at least MQF level 4;
- Be computer literate with MS Applications;
- Be well organised, have good managerial and leadership skills;
- Be a problem solver and have a good eye for detail;
- Be conscious of Health and Safety requirements;
- Be fluent in English speaking, writing and reporting;
- Have a strong commitment to quality, customer satisfaction and workplace safety.
