Job Description
We are currently seeking a Skilled Labourer to join our team.
The Skilled Labourer reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Education / experience:
- He should have a secondary standard level of education
- He must be able to communicate in the English language
- Working experience in various yacht-related works
He should be required to successfully carry out the following works:
- Must abide by all company’s health and safety regulations and procedures
- To adhere to MIYY policy described in the quality management policy
- Work as a team player
- Work on his own initiative with minimal supervision
- Attend future training in various fields as required by the company
- Assisting fitters in handling various works, shaft withdrawal / installing, engines / generators handling, bow thrusters and other yacht-related heavy handling
- Assisting shipwrights in handling various works, heavy / bulky items wood works, steel, etc
- Assisting painters in high-pressure washing, sanding of hulls, painting of antifouling, etc
- Assist in mast stepping / de-stepping and other mast handling operations
- Assist in slipping operations cradle construction, slipping, un-slipping, slip maintenance-related works
- Assisting in hoisting of boat operations on hard
- Operate forklifts, workboats and other related machinery
- Familiar with handling lifting equipment chain blocks, slings, shackles, wire ropes etc.
- Able to construct and maintain various scaffolding works to set safety standards
- Various yacht cleaning areas, engine rooms, tanks, bilges, and other confined areas
- Assist in the upkeeping of the yard in general
- Assisting and constructing thermoplastic tenting
- Carry out routine maintenance of machinery / equipment he uses
- Keep housekeeping standard levels high as per company policy
- Keep a pleasant and smart appearance especially when in contact with the boat owners
