Job Description

Lombard Bank is a long-established credit institution in Malta with a successful and consistent track record as a quality provider of financial services. It operates a full-service bank with a branch network and places emphasis on private and corporate banking both locally and for international clients.

In line with the Bank’s continued development, the need has arisen to engage a suitable individual to perform the duties of Finance Analyst. The successful candidate will join our professional and experienced team in our Finance department. Responsibilities will include the preparation of regulatory and statistical information and the interpretation and application of banking rules and regulations.

The main responsibilities of the role include but not be limited to:

  • Compilation of ongoing financial returns and responding to ad-hoc regulatory queries;
  • Participate and assist in projects implementing new requirements and the related reporting templates;
  • Maintain documentation related to internal procedures and regulation interpretations;
  • Prepare and assist with the preparation of financial reports for use and analysis by management;
  • Assist in coordinating and implementing changes to reporting systems;
  • Performing reconciliations of financial records and other control activities;
  • Assisting in the day-to-day routine processes and procedures of the Finance department;
  • Performing other ad-hoc duties as required.

The applicant as a minimum shall:

  • Ideally, hold or is in the process of obtaining a qualification in Banking and Finance;
  • Possess IT skills for data quality analysis and reporting and have a working knowledge of standard office automation packages, particularly Excel;
  • Be self-driven and committed to meeting set targets and deadlines;
  • Have a clear focus on high quality and excellence;
  • Apply analytical thinking and adapt to change;
  • Be keen to develop skills and enhance knowledge;
  • Be a team player with a commitment to assist and cooperate with other team members.
