The role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security and Network Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing security and network solutions for our clients. They will work closely with clients to understand their requirements and develop customized solutions to ensure the security, reliability, and performance of their IT infrastructure.
As a Security and Network Engineer, you will be
- Designing, implementing, and managing security and network solutions for clients’ IT infrastructures.
- Conducting security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention systems, and other security appliances.
- Monitoring network traffic for suspicious activity and responding to security incidents in a timely manner.
- Performing regular security updates and patches to ensure the integrity of clients’ systems.
- Troubleshooting network issues and providing timely resolution to minimize downtime.
- Collaborating with clients and internal teams to develop comprehensive security policies and procedures.
- Providing technical expertise and guidance to clients on security best practices and industry standards.
- Documenting system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for reference and knowledge sharing.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies to continuously improve our services and offerings.
Who you are
This role calls for someone who holds the following:
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience working as a Security and Network Engineer or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and VLANs.
- Hands-on experience with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and SIEM solutions.
- Strong understanding of security principles, including encryption, authentication, and access control.
- Experience with security assessment tools and techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCNP, or CEH are highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
