Job Description

Position Overview
The Hotel Sales and Marketing Executive is responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales and marketing plans to drive niche revenue growth and increase occupancy rates for the hotel at an increased room revenue rate. This role involves identifying potential customers, building strong relationships with clients, and executing marketing campaigns to promote the hotel’s brand and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and maximise profitability as discussed and agreed with the Hotel Manager and Board of Directors and report thereon.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including corporate accounts, group bookings, and partnerships by actively reaching out to local and international businesses, NGO’s via phone and emails.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, including corporate clients, travel agencies, event planners, and online travel agencies (OTAs).
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences and report accordingly thereon.
  • Collaborate with the reservations team to optimize pricing strategies and maximize room revenue.
  • Create and implement marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital marketing, social media, email marketing, hotel booking engine and traditional advertising.
  • Collaborate with photographers, videographers and social media influencers to create and post new content monthly.
  • Manage the hotel’s online presence, including website content, social media profiles, online review platforms and OTA channels.
  • Plan and execute promotional events, trade shows, and sales missions to showcase the hotel and attract potential clients.
  • Analyse sales and marketing data to evaluate campaign effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, Food and Beverage, Spa, Dive Centre and Housekeeping, to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market developments, and best practices in sales and marketing.
  • Ensure exceptional guest experience from point of booking to check out.

Key Qualifications and Assets:

  • Demonstrated expertise in event planning, sales, business development, or a related domain, with a proven history of successfully executing events, driving revenue, and acquiring new clients.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities, adept at fostering positive relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple projects concurrently and meeting deadlines.
  • Creativity, resourcefulness, and problem-solving.
  • Flexibility to accommodate varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, and occasional travel, to facilitate event coordination, client engagements, and business development initiatives.
  • One has to be already residing in Malta with a good knowledge in spoken and written English.
