Job Description

With over forty years of experience in food production, Dewfresh Products Limited has a long-standing reputation as a quality producer of meat products with its esteemed retail and catering clientele. In view of the recent growth in business activity, the company is seeking to engage a full-time Maintenance Technician mainly focusing on the daily running of the production plant.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes.
  • Responsible for the mechanical and electrical infrastructure of the manufacturing equipment, as well as refrigeration plant systems.
  • Conduct the necessary preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment as periodically scheduled.
  • Ensure that routine maintenance and repairs are carried out in a timely manner whilst undertaking technical improvement projects and assisting in new installations.
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant’s facility equipment.
  • Provide emergency / unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of machinery and equipment to identify and address any malfunctions or issues that may affect production.
  • Collaborate with other team members, such as the Operations Coordinator, to troubleshoot issues and together improve production processes.
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with all company policies and procedures as well as with occupational health and safety laws.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to food processing to maintain knowledge and skills relevant to the role.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Keep and update maintenance records at all times.

The ideal candidate must ideally possess:

  • A higher technician diploma or 3 years of experience in a similar post preferably within the food industry.
  • Valid electrical licenses A and B.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes that occur on the production line.
  • Be computer literate and fluent in both written and verbal English.
  • Be resourceful and maintain a strong ambition to succeed.
  • Have strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
  • Be able to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Possess a clean driving licence and clean police conduct.
