Job Description
As a Barista at Cioccolati Italiani, you’ll be an essential part of our team, responsible for creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers. Your role will involve a variety of tasks to ensure our patrons receive high-quality service and products in a welcoming environment.
Responsibilities:
- Coffee preparation: Expertly prepare classic coffees and speciality beverages according to our company’s menus and guidelines. This includes espresso, cappuccino, latte, macchiato, and more.
- Food preparation: Skillfully prepare pancakes, crêpes, and waffles with various fillings and toppings to complement our coffee offerings.
Gelato service: Participate in the preparation and serving of our authentic Italian gelato in cups and cones, ensuring customers receive delicious frozen treats with every visit. - Dessert preparation: Assist in the creation of gelato-based desserts, including speciality gelato cups and gourmet cones, showcasing our artisanal flavours and presentation.
- Cleaning and maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the shop on a daily basis. This includes regular cleaning of equipment, countertops, tables, and other areas to provide a pleasant dining atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in coffee preparation, is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak hours.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization in the workspace.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements:
- Language: Fluency in English; Maltese considered an asset.

- Availability: Flexible for am/pm shifts (until 11pm), including weekdays and weekends.
