Job Description
BMIT is currently seeking to recruit a Systems Engineer within its Enterprise Solutions team. The Enterprise Solutions team provides managed services to our customers – on-premise, in the data centre and in cloud environments.
As a Systems Engineer, you will be:
- Onboarding, administering and performing operational tasks on customers’ cloud and on-premise environments.
- Helping design and then implement new technical projects for our customers.
- Work day to day on operational issues, requests and project tasks involving various technologies e.g. Azure, Windows servers, Linux servers, patching tools, server virtual machine etc.
- Installing, configuring, administrating and managing Azure compute instances, Azure Backup, Azure Storage Monitor, snapshot, Azure Storage.
- Configuring and administrating various Microsoft 365 technologies including Defender and Intune.
- Proactively scheduling preventive maintenance and service enhancements to customers’ managed environments across systems, networking, security, and cloud.
- Taking ownership of issues, with a client focus to prioritize and resolve problems.
- Working with the commercial team to identify customer requirements and help build the right solution.
- Documenting environments and problem solutions.
Who are you?
- An experienced Engineer with knowledge of cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and AWS.
- Have extensive hands-on system administration skills in multiple tech areas such as Windows and / or Linux server-side infrastructure, virtual machines, and associated technologies on physical servers, VMWare and database administration.
- Don’t mind configuring and troubleshooting Terminal Servers (RDS), Windows Clustering, NLB, DFS, Internal PKI, and Hyper-V. PowerShell cmdlet and scripting.
- Are able to effectively coordinate and multi-task across various groups and functional teams inside and outside of the organization.
Bonus points:
- Experience on AWS and / or GCP will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation concepts.
- Knowledge of international standards and / or regulations such as ISO 27001, DORA, PCI-DSS etc.
- Knowledge of security best practices.
- Microsoft qualifications such as AZ-500, MS-500 and AZ-104.
Additional information:
- As part of the enterprise solutions team, you will be part of a team in an on-call rotation.
- This is a hybrid position and a driving license is required.
- You will be expected to maintain active certifications as discussed with your manager.
