Job Description

We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis at Zitti Restaurant at the vibrant Merchants Street Valletta. The Sous Chef will be responsible for food preparation, planning and directing the Kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for menu decisions.
  • Managing the inventory of the restaurant.
  • Cooking and preparing high quality dishes.
  • Taking charge of kitchen opening, closing and other side duties as directed by the Executive Chef.
  • Supervising, motivating and working closely with other chefs and kitchen staff.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • Familiar with the best practices in the catering services industry.
  • Ability to effectively manage the kitchen staff, motivate them and assign duties fairly.
  • Proficient in computer and Microsoft Office programmes, and restaurant software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or similar.
  • Food Handling licence B.
