Job Description
We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis at Zitti Restaurant at the vibrant Merchants Street Valletta. The Sous Chef will be responsible for food preparation, planning and directing the Kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for menu decisions.
- Managing the inventory of the restaurant.
- Cooking and preparing high quality dishes.
- Taking charge of kitchen opening, closing and other side duties as directed by the Executive Chef.
- Supervising, motivating and working closely with other chefs and kitchen staff.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Familiar with the best practices in the catering services industry.
- Ability to effectively manage the kitchen staff, motivate them and assign duties fairly.
- Proficient in computer and Microsoft Office programmes, and restaurant software.
- Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or similar.
- Food Handling licence B.
