Job Description

We are currently seeking a Conservator / Restorer of Paintings (Canvas / Wall / Panel / Polychrome Wooden Sculptures).

Position overview
The overall purpose of the job holder is to restore and preserve the artefacts within St John’s Co-Cathedral and the Museum, for the enjoyment of the visitors and future generations.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Minimum of MQF Level 7 qualification in conservation;
  • Relevant experience in the practice of restoration of paintings on canvas, on panel and polychrome wooden sculptures;
  • Good knowledge of materials and technology related to restoration interventions;
  • Good knowledge of the use of cameras for photographic documentation purposes;
  • Good knowledge of the use of CAD software for graphic documentation (AutoCAD or ZwCAD or similar), Adobe Photoshop and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
