Job Description

Sovereign Pension Services Limited is a financial services company which forms part of the Sovereign Group, an international group of companies with over 30 years experience in trusts and corporate services.

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to form part of our Accounts team in Malta. The successful candidate will form part of a dynamic team. In this role, you will be assisting the Accounts team with the internal accounting function of a licensed entity and the accounting for various Retirement Pension Schemes.

Responsible to the Finance Manager.

Main Duties

  • Checking bank accounts for funds received from third parties and reporting the findings to the Pensions team
  • Transferring pension payments to members
  • Updating company database and sending emails with the payment transfer confirmations to the Pensions team
  • Request, download and store valuations from investment houses for pension members as requested by the Pensions team
  • Scanning, filing, and archiving documents within the Accounts team
  • Processing ad hoc payments
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects as required
  • Providing administration support to the rest of the team
  • Any other related duties as may be requested by the Managers or Directors from time to time

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working in an office environment
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Previous experience in a similar position will be considered an asset but not essential
  • Strong team player skills and the ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce
