Playmobil has been manufacturing toys for 50 years and makes use of highly technical processes. Playmobil Malta Ltd. is one of the most important plants within the group. In Malta, it is one of the largest employers on the island.
We are now seeking to strengthen our Process Engineering department by employing a Leader, with adequate technical knowledge and experience, to be in charge of technical staff and to improve the approach to relevant processes. Amongst others, the selected candidate will be:
- Involved in the commissioning of machines, also through interaction with foreign suppliers, as well as the administration of acceptance tests on site;
- Implementing engineering best practice solutions supporting a culture of continuous improvement and lean;
- Developing others through training and certifying employees on the use of machinery, tools, and equipment;
- Overseeing, and where necessary performing, trials and initial runs for new items / materials including the related design setting, and then following up on adjustments / modifications needed after first-off master samples;
- Providing timely support to production departments on specific machinery, including through comprehensive supervision and by leading fault-finding approaches where needed.
The ideal candidates will:
- Hold a relevant technical qualification at least at MQF level 4;
- Be able to communicate fluently, including in writing, not only in English but also in another European language preferably Maltese;
- Have experience in using IT software including the MS Office applications of Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
- Have a number of years of relevant work experience including technical fault finding and exposure to leading others;
- Be interested in emerging technology related to automation.
