Job Description
We are currently seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our team.
The main duties will include:
- Cleaning and sanitizing all meal preparation areas, kitchen walls, stoves, sinks, ovens, grills, refrigerators and freezers.
- Sweeping and mopping all kitchen and storage areas during and at the end of shifts.
- Wash dishes, cutting boards, utensils, etc. ensuring that all cooking equipment is clean and in good working order.
- Receiving and unpacking all deliveries.
- Emptying and washing garbage cans.
- Ensuring that refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas are clean and well-organized.
- Basic food preparation including washing, peeling, and cutting meal ingredients as requested by the Chef.
- Adhere to time checks on toilets and other cleaning schedules.
Requirements:
- Secondary level of education.
- Preferably in possession of a food handler’s license.
- Have experience assisting in a kitchen environment.
- Have working knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
- Can work as part of a team.
- Can work in a fast-paced environment.
- Can stand for extended periods.
