We are currently recruiting for the position of a Buyer in our Shipyard located in Malta.

The incumbent will be integrated into the procurement department where they will be responsible for supplier management, market research, requesting quotations, obtaining commercial offers, negotiating prices, using dedicated management software and ensuring effective procurement process management. They will collaborate with other functional areas of the company, particularly technical, estimating, and administrative domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage contacts with suppliers for the acquisition of goods and services necessary for the company.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and evaluate available offers.
  • Request quotations and analyze commercial offers to identify the most advantageous solutions in terms of quality and cost.
  • Negotiate prices and contractual conditions with suppliers to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Monitor and manage the procurement process, from purchase approval requests to receipt of ordered goods or services. Utilize dedicated management software to monitor and record purchases, ensuring accurate traceability of transactions and adherence to company procedures.
  • Collaborate with other functional areas of the company, particularly technical, estimating, and administrative domains, to ensure effective integration of procurement processes with business activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English language.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Good knowledge of procurement techniques.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
