Job Description

Nestlé Malta Ltd is looking for a Junior Trade Marketing Specialist to assist with accurate and timely category / channel / customer understanding by interpreting and analysing commercial data. One should possess a flair for numbers, strong problem-solving and analytical skills willing to support the various departments in order to grow our brands in the various channels.

The role acts as a catalyst between the Sales and Marketing functions, developing ways to aid the Sales team in delivering the various marketing ambitions. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our team, developing and building relations between all departments and ensuring that the various targets in place are reached.

We are looking for somebody who has:

  • An analytical mindset and a flair for number crunching;
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a relevant field;
  • A basic understanding of the local trade customers, competition, and structure;
  • Is curious, motivated, and has a willingness to learn;
  • A high level of commitment and sense of accountability;
  • A thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel.

To perform the following tasks:

  • Analyze the performance of Nestlé (and competition) on a monthly basis, leading to solid conclusions and recommendations on the way forward;
  • Providing monthly updates on key activities at the Point of Sale by competitors through analysing competitor trends / research data at the category, channel and customer level;
  • Support in the development of category channel plans by providing category and channel trends, latest developments and analysis including optimising category portfolio within channels;
  • Provide relevant category, channel and customer information – including areas of under / over performance, rationale and potential future opportunities for growth whilst increasing channel and customer profitability;
  • Promotional follow-up – maintenance of promotional chronogram, including competition analysis and follow-up on campaign implementations per customer;
  • Ad-hoc analysis on regular issues coming from specific customer meetings;
  • Report execution performance and sales performance vs plan for category, channel and customer initiatives whilst proactively anticipating gaps.
