Job Description

Muscats Motors Ltd specialises in automotive and has an exciting full-time opportunity for an enthusiastic Motor Vehicle Electrician to join our dynamic team.

The Motor Vehicle Electrician is responsible to diagnose electrical faults and carrying out repairs of vehicles in an efficient and effective manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

Tasks:

  • Thoroughly examines vehicles to identify any faults and determine the cause and the type of repair and parts required for the vehicle.
  • Carries out electrical and mechanical repairs of vehicles in an efficient and effective manner and in line with the manufacturer’s safety standards.
  • Ensure that repairs and services are done within the stipulated time schedules and in accordance with the job card specifications.
  • Protects customer vehicles and their contents at all times using the appropriate protection i.e; seat covers, floor mats, steering wheel covers and wing protectors.
  • Carries out his duties in a cautious manner to avoid causing any accidental damages to vehicles and their components during service or repair.
  • Reports to the Workshop Team Leader on the general condition of vehicles with an emphasis on customer safety and including any current or possible future vehicle faults and servicing requirements noticed.
  • Ensures that faults have been reported on the job card, especially any warranty work for which write-up should be in line with manufacturer’s standards.
  • Makes use of protective clothing and equipment provided by the company.
  • Keeps the work area clean and tidy, ensuring the overall cleanliness of the workshop to promote and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensures the correct collection, usage, return and disposal of parts and tools used to service or repair vehicles.
  • Adheres strictly to health and safety regulations and company policies and franchise standard requirements, especially on high voltage systems.
  • Makes proper use of tools, parts and equipment provided and keeps workshop loading updated.
  • Keeps updated on franchise standards, new vehicle models, manufacturer’s technical specifications and new vehicle technology.
  • Attends training organised both locally and abroad when and as required.
  • Carries out any additional duties assigned by the Workshop Manager / Workshop Team Leader from time to time.

Qualifications and experience:

  • O’ level standard of education.
  • Experience in electrical systems.
  • Experience in high voltage systems and a similar role is considered an asset.
