Job Description

Multitude Bank p.l.c., part of the Multitude Group and located in Malta, is looking for a Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer who will be responsible for, among other matters, compliance reviews, transaction monitoring, investigations and contributing to strategic decision-making. In this role, you will be reporting directly to the Bank’s Money Laundering Reporting Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Head of AFC / MLRO in overseeing all aspects of the Bank’s FCC activities;
  • Reviewing AML / CFT compliance checks carried out by the Bank’s first line of defence;
  • Support the reviewing and testing of the relevant functions in relation to the above, in line with the anti-financial crime plan;
  • Overseeing the ongoing monitoring of the transactions monitoring rules implemented within the bank’s transactions monitoring solution;
  • Liaise with internal departments in the development of AFC controls and in carrying out remediation exercises;
  • Reviewing alerts generated at all phases of the Bank’s customer life-cycle, commencing from onboarding until the closure / termination of customer accounts;
  • Support the identification of practical and feasible solutions for the Bank’s business requirements, including the analysis of new business projects;
  • Initiating investigations, completion of internal and external STRs and supporting all necessary follow-up action;
  • Overseeing the processing of requests for information and other orders received from the competent authorities, whether in Malta or abroad, including the Police, judicial authorities and others;
  • Assist in the implementation of measures to be taken to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations and standards;
  • Liaise, where necessary, with regulatory and supervisory authorities and internal stakeholders;
  • Ensure that compliance monitoring is carried out in line with all relevant instructions and parameters, as periodically updated by the Bank.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of the regulatory and AML / CFT framework in Malta;
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a senior AML / CFT compliance professional;
  • Financial services-related academic qualification;
  • Experience working in a regulated environment, preferably in banking or the payments sector;
  • A solid understanding of corporate on-boarding processes;
  • Professional certification in AML / CFT compliance;
  • Solution-based and proactive attitude with respect of compliance and AML / CFT matters.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Good command of Excel.
