Job Description

Your challenge:

  • Observe Group’s financial procedures, to ensure transparent and traceable accounting practices;
  • Acts as the liaison between the Company and clients / suppliers;
  • Issues invoices and credit notes to clients according to contracts or set price lists;
  • Develops strong and long-term client / supplier relationships;
  • Handles day-to-day issues with clients, resolving billing errors and dealing with suppliers in a timely and effective manner;
  • Posts and allocates payments from clients  to suppliers;
  • Maintains filing of business documents using an efficient and easily accessed filing system;
  • Prepares bank deposits, writes cheques, reconciliation and run postings and statements as required;
  • Reconciles clients’ and suppliers’ statements;
  • Assist with the annual audit preparation and liaising with the Company’s auditors during audits;
  • Prepares ad hoc reports as requested;
  • Supports in other duties within Accounts department as instructed;
  • Assist in the compilation of the annual budget, cash flow forecast and treasury reporting;
  • Preparation and submission of the local VAT return every quarter;
  • Assisting with the execution of online payments, when required;
  • Assist the Finance Manager in carrying out day-to-day finance activities, such as but not limited to preparing periodical or ad hoc reports such as NSO declarations and reports, and tasks as requested from time to time by management;
  • Assisting the Finance Manager in the timely execution and control of monthly and annual accounts closure, including but not limited to the preparation and maintenance of financial supporting schedules.

Who are you?

  • Holds a minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in a similar role.
  • Holder of a minimum MQF level 3 of education in accounting.
  • Excellent proficiency in both spoken and written English communication.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and clients.
  • Strong acumen in MS Office applications – especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong focus on accuracy and precision when recording financial transactions and maintaining records.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • In possession of a clean driving license (category B), due to work location accessibility.
  • Holder of a valid work permit issued by respective Maltese authorities.
