Job Description

The role
A vacancy has arisen at the Mediterranean College of Sport (MCS) & Sports Star Lodge for the post of a Senior Maintenance Technician on a full-time basis. The selected candidate would need to have a solid knowledge of maintenance and would be prepared to support the Maintenance Manager and team in the general tasks and duties.

Main responsibilities include

  • Scheduling in-house maintenance including HVAC upkeep, plumbing, lift maintenance, general carpentry as well as any other general maintenance needs for MCS and Sports Star Lodge.
  • Supervises, mentors and trains Maintenance technicians.
  • Implements departmental policies and procedures.
  • Recording Electrical, Water and Gas meter readings.
  • Recording hot water temperature.
  • Recording chlorine level of the first-class water system.
  • Daily maintenance at the College (including the pool area), and in the student accommodation and car park.
  • Installing, testing, modification and commissioning of extra-low voltage systems such as but not limited to CCTV systems, Fire Alarm and Access Control systems and car park systems.
  • Upkeeping of classrooms and labs.
  • Inspecting guest rooms and making modifications in room layout depending on guests’ requirements upon booking.
  • Assisting and monitoring sub-contractors working at the College and in guest rooms.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices/ Able to Follow all health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond to emergency maintenance situations outside regular working hours may be required.
  • Able to juggle multiple maintenance requests and projects simultaneously while ensuring that routine maintenance tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Adhering to the College’s policies and legal regulations.
  • Other ad-hoc reporting as it may be required.

Skills and requirements

  • Having two (2) years of experience in a similar role would be considered an asset.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, particularly in English.
