Job Description
Medelec Switchgear Ltd with over 45 years’ experience in the design and manufacture of air-insulated medium voltage switchgear, compact and mobile substations, control panels, low voltage distribution boards, automatic transfer switches and automatic voltage regulators, is seeking to recruit Electrical Technicians.
The chosen candidates will form part of a dynamic team responsible for carrying out all routine testing and inspection. The selected candidate must be an energetic person with good leadership skills. The ability to work under pressure and have a hands-on approach are also valuable attributes for this position.
Responsibilities
- Setting, programming and operating test equipment.
- Testing and inspection of 11kV and 33kV switchgear and associated products to ensure that these are according to the relevant quality standards and safety requirements.
- Verifying instruments and test equipment.
- Compiling manufacturing records on computerised systems.
- Maintaining a clean and organized working environment and wearing personal protective equipment.
Requirements
- An Electrical Technician qualification in a related field.
- Ability to work in a team and be flexible in approach.
- Strong analytical / troubleshooting skills.
- Diligent, self-motivated and with good attention to detail.
- Capable of following standard operating procedures and able to work cautiously and safely.
- Capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Electrician’s licenses A and B will be considered an asset.
