Job Description
We are currently seeking a Trade Technician (Mechanical Fitter) to join our team.
The Trade Technician (Mechanical Fitter) reports directly to Engineering Supervisor.
Education / Experience:
- He should have a Technician level of education sealed with a journeyman certificate in a mechanical engineering-related subject or equivalent work experience
- He must be able to communicate in English language
- He must have a problem-solving attitude
- He must be able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
He should be required to successfully carry out the following works:
- Must abide by all company’s Health and Safety regulations and procedures
- To adhere to MIYY policy described in the quality management policy
- Attend future training as required by the company
- Shafts withdrawal / replacement
- Shaft bearing renewals
- Checking/correcting shaft alignment
- Rudder bearing renewals
- Servicing / renewals of various types of sea valves and skin fittings
- Servicing of main engines and generators
- Servicing of sail drives and gearboxes
- Servicing of different types of foldable / feathering propellers
- Overhauling of bow thrusters
- Overhauling of deck winches / anchor windlasses
- Carry out routine maintenance of machinery / equipment he uses
- Keep housekeeping standard levels high as per company policy
- Keep a pleasant and smart appearance especially when in contact with boat owners
- Assist other trades as required
