The role
We’re currently seeking a talented Technical Writer to contribute to our business development efforts by working closely with the team to craft technical proposals for bespoke software opportunities. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for writing technical documentation for projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure we provide the right technical solutions for our customers and clearly articulate the business value in our proposals.

Your responsibilities
Contributing to business growth: You’ll play a pivotal role in our growth trajectory by collaborating with both the Business Development and Technical teams.

Your responsibilities include participating in cross-functional teams to understand the technical vision and translating it into comprehensive, business-oriented proposals. Your ability to clearly articulate the business value of our technical solutions will be pivotal in securing new opportunities.

Preparing technical documentation: Collaborate with our Technical team to prepare a variety of technical documents, including user manuals, product guides, and other project-related documentation. Your ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand documentation will be crucial in ensuring project success.

Specific duties

  • Create technical documentation for diverse audiences, including business users, technical teams, end-users, and administrators, covering technical proposals,  manuals, guides, troubleshooting, and specifications.
  • Research complex technical concepts, collaborating with experts to translate them into user-friendly documentation.
  • Organize documentation logically for easy navigation and readability, maintaining consistent formatting.
  • Write and edit technical content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency, tailoring tone and detail to audience needs.
  • Supplement written content with visual aids like diagrams and screenshots to enhance understanding.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and incorporate feedback into documentation.
  • Maintain version control and manage updates in line with software releases and industry changes.
  • Gather user feedback to improve documentation content, format, and usability.
  • Utilize authoring tools and documentation systems for efficient creation and distribution.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company guidelines, including accessibility and security protocols.
  • Provide training and support to internal teams and users on accessing and using documentation effectively.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices for continuous professional development in technical writing.

The ideal candidate will have

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience writing technical documentation in a software development environment or similar industry.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and other relevant software tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Great to have

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience in participating in pre-sales and / or Government tender bids
