Job Description

The IT Junior Officer reports to the IT and Premises Manager and is responsible for managing tasks related to the upkeep of the CE Installation Block and troubleshooting IT issues to ensure uninterrupted staff operations. The role requires extensive software skills, internet research abilities, and strong communication skills.

General duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, including peripherals such as printers, mobile phones, telephony and network equipment.
  • Basic troubleshooting of any software or hardware issues relating to IT and networks.
  • Supporting internal users via tickets, emails and telephone onsite and offsite.
  • Deep understanding of OS, Windows 10 and preferably MACOSx
  • Updating and maintaining IT Asset registry.
  • Maintaining users on Active Directory.
  • Overseeing backups.
  • Updating and patching of servers and equipment
  • Overseeing virtualization platforms.
  • Providing administration support.
  • Informing all the office staff about upcoming maintenance.
  • Participating in IT projects.
  • Taking ownership of tasks through the ticketing system and resolve in a timely manner.
  • Prioritise task.
  • Creating knowledgebase articles and updating documentation.
  • Possess a valid driving license
  • Assisting with ongoing projects.
  • Able to work flexible hours and on own initiative.
  • Carrying out outside visits as required.

Position requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field will be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in IT or a similar role will be considered an asset.
  • O365 administration including assigning / revoking licenses.
  • Knowledge in assigning / modifying new rules to users / groups.
  • Knowledge in PBX maintaining users and provisioning devices.
  • Relevant qualifications in Microsoft / Linux / Cisco or Information related degree.
  • Good troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and MacOS.
  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and to be available for occasional on-call support.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • European passport or working permission to work in Malta.
  • Clean police conduct certificate (must be presented.)
