Job Description

We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our team.

The Accounts Assistant plays a crucial role in the financial, administrative, and clerical support of the company. Responsible for managing payments owed to suppliers and creditors, this role ensures the smooth operation of the organization’s financial obligations. Attention to detail, analytical skills, and knowledge of accounting principles are essential for success in this role.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Post business transactions, process invoices, and verify financial data to maintain accurate accounts payable records.
  • Provide clerical support necessary to pay the organization’s obligations, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain meticulous records of outstanding payables, ensuring accuracy for payment, auditing, and tax purposes.
  • Protect the organization against unintentional overpayment by verifying invoice details, prices and receiving signatures.
  • Practice effective monitoring to ensure payments are made to vendors promptly and within agreed terms.
  • Reconcile bank statements and verify invoices against purchase orders to ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Education in Finance, Economics, Business Studies, or Accounting would be beneficial.
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting role.
  • Ability in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software is preferred.
