Job Description

We are a four-star superior resort located in a unique area at the heart of the island surrounded by the beautiful landscape of Wied Għollieqa, Nature Reserve. At the resort, the main objective is to continuously deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

Currently, we are seeking a person to take on the position of Front Office Supervisor on a full-time basis. Within this position, you would be responsible for assigning work and ensuring the completion of daily tasks which fall under the responsibility of the front office operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests by greeting and directing them appropriately
  • Assign work and supervise that team members’ performance is in line with all front office procedures including guest check-in and check-out, lobby traffic, luggage assistance, telephone operator services and determine room rates and availability
  • Follow up on guest satisfaction and pursue guest-related issues
  • Carry out administrative tasks including filing, calendar entries, meeting arrangements, and record maintenance
  • Process all guest check-ins by confirming reservations, assigning room, issuing and activating room key
  • Coordinate with the appropriate individual or department to resolve guest call, request, or problem
  • Maintain a professional attitude with co-workers, stakeholders, and suppliers
  • Perform shift audit and run necessary daily reports
  • Balance and drop receipts as per accounting specifications
  • Assistance in the purchasing of supplies, services or works
  • Keep abreast with current rates, events, marketing offers, hotel operations and other information necessary to answer guest inquiries
  • Handle daily correspondence, respond to inquiries, make reservations, and mail out brochures
  • Assist management in training, motivating, and coaching employees
  • Other administrative tasks and duties may, from time to time, be assigned by the line manager, director, and deputy director

Skills and qualifications required:

  • English language, as well as another European language (preferable, French and / or Italian) both written and spoken, are a must
  • Have a minimum of 3 years experience as a receptionist, front office representative or similar role
  • Experience with Opera system will be considered an asset, however, training is provided
  • Ability to be resourceful and have a proactive approach
  • Professional attitude and smart appearance
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Hold multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Flexibility to work on a roster basis, including weekends and / or public holidays
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Have a pleasant personality, and be of good moral character
