Job Description
The Warren Collection are looking for a competent General Maintenance Person to work between both properties, who must be reliable, hardworking and possess great communication skills.
Key responsibilities and tasks
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures.
- See to any maintenance problems and issues tied to repairs, safety hazards and any other related issues.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
- Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
- Communicate with guests / customers to resolve maintenance issues.
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
- Communicate each day’s activities and problems that occur to the other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
- Perform all surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement and the complete and thorough clean-up of the painting or repair area.
- Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, and internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and other guestroom items.
- Maintains accurate logs and records as required.
- Assists in effectively planning, scheduling and evaluating preventative maintenance programs.
The potential candidate will ideally possess the following skills and qualities
- Good communication skills, and proficiency in English. Knowledge of the Maltese language will be considered an asset.
- Ability to take responsibility, and work on own initiative.
- Available to work shifts on a seven-day schedule.
- Previous experience in a hotel environment will be considered an asset.
- Basic proficiency / understanding of the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic / electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, energy conservation, and / or general building.
Out-of-hours call-outs may be required in this position.
