Job Description
The Malta Experience, a subsidiary of the M. Demajo Group is seeking to recruit a Cook on a part-time basis to join its current team. The selected candidate will be providing food and beverage service at The Malta Experience Cafeteria.
Main duties will include:
- Inspecting supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformity with established standards;
- Determining how food should be presented, and creating decorative food displays;
- Preparing, seasoning, and cooking dishes in a timely manner;
- Packaging, labelling, and storing preparations and products (production and use-by dates);
- Implementing methods on how to reduce food waste;
- Maintaining, setting and establishing hygiene practices to comply with the necessary HACCP requirements;
- Managing all documentation related to correct stock levels and maintaining inventory control;
- Controlling and reporting stock shortages and checking orders when received.
Requirements:
- 2 years experience in a similar role;
- Possess certification in food handling;
- Have a flair for the art of culinary production;
- Have a food and beverage-related qualification and a minimum of two years experience in a similar role;
- Be fluent in Maltese, English and another European language;
- Be outgoing and have excellent communication skills;
- Be able to work in a team;
- Have the ability to work under pressure;
- Be willing to work evenings, weekends and public holidays;
- Be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office applications;
- Be discrete, self-confident and flexible;
- Have excellent leadership and problem-solving skills;
- Be meticulous and well-organised;
- Possess a can-do attitude and a high level of commitment.
