Tairs Worldwide Ltd, is a Malta-based company that specializes in global flight disruption management with operations in Malta, Italy, UAE, Switzerland, South America and Mexico. The company has over 10 years global experience and is currently expanding its operations in Europe and Latin America

The company serves airlines and gives specialised support to their passengers who are affected by disruptions such as cancelled flights, delays, overbooking, and missed connections.

We have an immediate opening for a Global Operations Manager.

The Global Operations Manager is responsible for the overall running of the company’s global operations within Europe, South America, and Mexico. This role is vital to ensure the company operations both locally and internationally, is managed to the highest standard. The position requires oversight in multiple areas within the company, including overseas stations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness while seeking to deliver on service levels and contractual arrangements of our clients. They manage other teams within several stations and guide groups of people to complete their tasks to achieve company-wide goals. They also analyse and enhance organisational processes and work to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Manage overall operations within Europe and international markets including South America and Mexico with accountability for the effective and successful management of processes as established and set for the Operations department
  • Manage both the operations process, embracing design, planning, control, performance improvement, and operations strategy, including the administration of contracts locally and internationally
  • Enhance operational procedures, systems and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting, and continuous improvement
  • Interact with managers in other areas of the organisation whose roles have an impact on operations. Such areas include airport, ground handling companies, and hotel partners and stations e.g. Italy, Spain, Mexico, and South America
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in line with the company’s policies and service levels
  • Identify international best practice to ensure operational efficiencies
  • Understanding of systems and governance policies required for set up of operations in International especially for growth in Latin America
  • Ensuring that the international trading system of the company gets enhanced and generates improved profits
  • Supervising, training and overseeing the global administration personnel and making them meet the requirements of the company

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration, or a related field
  • 2+ years’ proven experience in an operations management position in a disruption management company or related field
  • Background in aeronautical disruption services and policies and procedures including airline disruption processes based on international standards
  • The candidate must be experienced in working in the Latin American market
  • Working knowledge of start-up requirements in airport stations including operational set-up on global markets
  • Thorough working knowledge of administrative and back-office practices
  • Working experience in airline operations, ground handling, and customer management
  • Experience in tourism services including hotels, hospitality and transportation
  • Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organisational control of station operations and customer service
  • Bilingual communication skills (high proficiency in Spanish and English)
  • Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of management software programs, including MySQL database systems
  • Strong analytical  and problem solving skills
  • Be able to work in a multicultural environment

Working Conditions

  • Gross monthly wage: ¢1700
  • Hours of work / week: 40 hours (be able to work flexible hours and shift work)
  • Duration of contract: permanent
  • Other conditions:
    • Performance bonus where applicable
