Job Description

In an expanding business environment where success is based on the provision of excellent client service, we are seeking to recruit an IT Support Specialist.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Logging and processing support incidents for STM Group primarily for Malta, but groupwide as required, and as cover
  • Designing and implementing efficient end-user feedback and error reporting systems
  • Responding to technical support calls from end-users of computers and software applications
  • Upgrading, installing and configuring new hardware and software to meet company objectives
  • Performing diagnostic tests and debugging procedures to optimize computer systems
  • Monitoring and maintaining networks and servers
  • Creating user accounts and performing access control
  • Installing and configuring operating systems, anti-virus software and other applications such as Microsoft Office
  • Maintaining inventories of hardware and software
  • Documenting processes, as well as backing up and archiving data on servers
  • Developing data retrieval and recovery procedures
  • Monitor, implement and improve local systems to ensure proper security protocols and procedures are in place to prevent potential threats
  • Keeping a record of issues and faults along with solutions, for future reference

Core competencies required:

  • Be educated to an advanced diploma level or higher
  • Have a minimum 2-year experience as an IT Support Analyst or Helpdesk Support Engineer with hands-on responsibility for supporting end-user computing
  • Understanding of ITIL v4 (preferable) processes
  • Experience of Microsoft domains (Active Directory) and enterprise collaboration platforms; Office365 preferable
  • Excellent communication skills at both technical and non-technical levels
  • Evidence of self-motivation to deliver solutions and outcomes, not report problems, thinking outside the box and bringing ideas forward
  • Good understanding of modern-day end-user computing technologies and ideally
