Position Overview
We are seeking a part-qualified Accountant who wishes to complete their studies while gaining hands-on experience in both accounting and higher education management. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow into a future CFO position as our institution expands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounting and Finance (60%)
    • Monitor and control expenditure to ensure cost-effectiveness
    • Maintain accurate financial records and perform daily bookkeeping duties
    • Process accounts payable and receivable
    • Manage payroll processing and related documentation
    • Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts and financial reports
    • Assist with budgeting and forecasting
    • Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts
    • Handle banking relationships, bank reconciliations and cash management
    • Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and tax requirements
    • Collaborate with colleagues to provide financial insights and support decision-making
    • Support external audit processes by ensuring compliance with Maltese and international accounting standards
  • Management Support (40%)
    • Assist the Head of Institution with administrative and management tasks
    • Support strategic planning initiatives
    • Help coordinate institutional projects and programmes
    • Assist with regulatory compliance and quality assurance
    • Contribute to operational efficiency improvements
    • Prepare management reports and presentations
    • Assist in the implementation of Artificial Intelligence research and productivity aids

Required Qualifications

  • Part-qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Preferably holder of a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent English language skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in accounting software and MS Office
