Job Description

This position contributes to Starbucks’ success by providing legendary customer service to all customers. This job creates the Starbucks Experience for our customers by providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks’ guiding principles.

What does a Starbucks Barista Do?
A Starbucks barista is responsible for multiple tasks in their everyday interactions with customers. While you’re recommending new products and taking custom orders, your routing can change instantly. In this fast-paced environment at Starbucks, you will have to adapt to changing needs in the store quickly.

​​Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following behaviours:

  • Follow Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all partners during each shift.
  • Seeing to customer needs.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace.
  • Resolve customer complaints efficiently and quickly as they come up.
  • Provides quality beverages, whole beans, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
  • Follows health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
  • Assisting to the customer needs.
  • Maintain and clean the store when needed.
  • Handle cash and record customers’ orders information accurately.
  • Assisting and coaching new staff members on board.
  • Contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational methods.

  • ​Communication skills both written and spoken in English.
  • No previous experience is required.
  • Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and / or holidays.
