Job Description

General concept of the role
Working within an educational environment to act as a point of reference for catering activities / services. Management of the main kitchen menu on a daily basis and ensuring the kitchen is constantly stocked.

The ideal candidate will be mainly responsible for:

  • Plan varied daily menus to suit various dietary preferences and needs
  • Organise weekly stock orders
  • Maintain a well-stocked kitchen
  • Liaise with the finance department on allocated budgets
  • Handle food preparation prior to meals
  • Maintaining a clean kitchen environment and complying with sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen and communication with relevant staff members
  • Act as a point of reference for staff and boarding students alike on food related queries
  • Report directly to the Bursar and Head of School
  • Organise regular meetings to ensure needs are met and also collect feedback

Requirements:

  • Proven ability and experience in kitchen management
  • Experience in catering and operation of a medium sized kitchen
  • Good knowledge and experience in Asian cuisine would be considered an asset
  • In possession of a valid food handling licence
  • Must have a friendly / outgoing disposition
