Job Description

We are seeking to employ a Networks Engineer to join our Networks Solutions team, which is responsible for designing and developing scalable, high availability and reliable solutions, including L2/L3 Switching and Routing, VOIP, high-density Wi-Fi solutions, and perimeter firewalls.

The role involves designing and implementing new solutions, improving the resilience of current environments, configuring, and installing various network devices and services, as well as performing network maintenance and system upgrades. Key responsibilities include monitoring performance, ensuring system availability and reliability, monitoring system resource utilisation, trending, capacity planning, providing level-2/3 support, as well as troubleshooting to resolve issues.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide consultancy and advice on network infrastructures
  • Resolve and close 2nd and 3rd-level support calls in a timely and efficient manner
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Maintain and monitor selected customer network infrastructures
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain network infrastructures
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Maintain security and redundancy strategies, applying best industry practices
  • Liaise with vendors, other IT personnel and other teams for problem resolution
  • Achieve and maintain industry-specific certifications on the subject matter as required
  • Create and maintain network documentation
  • Deliver within time, cost, and quality parameters set out by the Project Management team

Experience, skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum MQF level 5 diploma, CCNA certification or equivalent recognised technical qualifications
  • 3 years of experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting network infrastructures
  • Experience in the administration and performance tuning of network infrastructures
  • Experience in monitoring networking equipment and services
  • Hands-on experience on networks, including routing, switching, firewalls and wireless
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in Aruba, Cisco and Fortinet technologies would be considered an asset
