Company Profile
Scenic is a private, Australian-owned company, employing staff and tour crew worldwide. Its main business is river and ocean cruising. Part of the finance team is established in Malta, which is mainly involved with the building of ocean vessels and operation of both river and ocean vessels.

We are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our team.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Reviewing of weekly payment run
  • Reviewing of bank reconciliations
  • Reviewing of sales invoices
  • Reviewing of payroll journals and upload files
  • Ensuring that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly
  • Reviewing and approving of month end inventory and processing in accounting system
  • Preparing depreciation, accruals, and prepayments journals
  • Preparing monthly vessel accounting
  • Communicating with vessel Hotel Managers and Assistant Hotel Managers
  • Obtaining a sound understanding of different VAT jurisdictions
  • Liaising with auditors during year end audit
  • Working with peers at Head office, Malta office and Vessel team
  • Working on other reporting as required
  • Managing a team

  • Ability to work well with colleagues, manage the team and liaising with the vessel team
  • Ability to prioritize workload and delegate tasks
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within set timeframes
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office software
  • In the process of obtaining ACCA qualification
  • Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum of 3 years previous experience in a similar post
  • On the job training will be provided
  • Willing to travel twice or three times annually
