Salvo Grima Group is a dynamic group of companies specialising in distribution, ship supply, international wholesale and retail in Europe and Africa. Our Group was first established in 1860 and now employs over 230 people with operations in seven countries.
We are looking for a new International Business Executive to join our International Business and Retail unit which is responsible for distributing internationally renowned brands within the FMCG industry, also operating a line of travel retail shops. This role is based in Malta and would require frequent travel.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, or a related field; A Master’s degree will be considered an asset.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development, operations, sales, or a related role.
- Fluency in English is essential, with proficiency in French and / or Spanish being a strong advantage.
- An all-rounder with a go-getter attitude, someone who can turn ideas into concrete business. Not only improving existing operations but also actively seeking out new opportunities.
- A self-starter, comfortable with wearing multiple hats, and understands the significance of a strong online presence in today’s market.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to generate and chase leads effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proficiency in cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using modern business tools and software for analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation and Market Analysis:
- Proactively identify, pursue, and secure leads within the duty-free industry, converting potential prospects into active business partnerships.
- Stay updated with market dynamics, identifying evolving trends, and scouting for fresh retail opportunities, ensuring our business remains at the forefront of the industry.
- Flexibility and Role Interchangeability:
- Display a high level of adaptability with current resources as needed, ensuring the continuity of operations.
- Occasionally undertake responsibilities related to ERP System Management, which includes overseeing purchase orders, sales orders, and inventory management in the ERP system, ensuring seamless workflow especially during the absence of key personnel.
- Act as a key communication link, regularly updating the management team on progress, challenges, and opportunities, fostering an environment of transparency and collaboration.
- Execute other tasks and responsibilities as directed by management, displaying a proactive approach and commitment to the company’s vision and objectives.
- KPI Monitoring and Strategy Enhancement:
- Assist with monitoring key performance indicators, offering insights into the effectiveness of our operational and strategic initiatives.
- Regularly report findings to the management, providing actionable recommendations and strategies for improvement and optimisation.
