The Head of Purchasing is entrusted with the strategic oversight and efficient management of Corinthia’s Purchasing function for Malta covering 6 hotels across the island. This role is pivotal in developing and executing a purchasing strategy aligned with Corinthia’s quality benchmarks and financial objectives. The incumbent will ensure that procurement operations adhere to the industry’s best practices, promoting cost-effectiveness and supplier excellence.
The candidate will be responsible for:
- Strategic procurement leadership: Craft and implement a robust purchasing strategy that aligns with Corinthia’s operational goals, ensuring the delivery of quality materials and services at optimal costs.
- Supplier relationship management: Cultivate and manage relationships with key suppliers, conducting thorough evaluations to ensure they meet Corinthia’s standards for quality, cost, reliability, and sustainability.
- Contract negotiation and Management: Lead the negotiation and management of contracts, ensuring they are legally compliant, cost-effective, and reflective of Corinthia’s requirements and standards.
- Procurement policy oversight: Oversee the procurement policies and procedures, ensuring they comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Data-driven decision-making: Utilize advanced analytics to inform purchasing decisions, monitor market trends, and conduct cost-benefit analyses to optimize procurement strategies.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Foster collaboration across departments to ensure seamless integration of the purchasing function with other business operations.
- Leadership and team development: Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional excellence.
- Compliance and ethical conduct: Champion ethical procurement practices and ensure strict adherence to the company’s policies and procedures.
- Have experience in a leadership role within procurement.
- Be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of implementing successful purchasing strategies.
- Have expertise in contract negotiation, supplier management, and compliance.
- Have strong financial acumen with excellent analytical and forecasting abilities.
- Have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with particular emphasis on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Have knowledge of Adaco systems is advantageous.
