Job Description

The main responsibilities of the Quality Systems Manager are to plan, organise, direct and lead the company’s Quality Systems program.

The Manager will have to comprehend and share the key elements of the company’s quality goals as well as a detailed understanding and skillfully use the techniques of system design, project management, quality improvement, outcomes measurements, and statistical analysis.

This must be done according to the rules of good manufacturing and laboratory practices. This must be achieved whilst consistently and continuously ensuring compliance and adherence to cGMP, company procedures, environmental health and safety regulations, and pharmacopeial standards for pharmaceutical stability studies conducted as per ICH guidelines.

A detailed description of main tasks and key responsibilities:

  • Oversee and monitor the development and implementation of the Quality Management System and its respective improvement. program, ensuring GMP compliance with local procedures, and relevant regulatory laws and guidelines as required.
  • Ensure that the necessary and adequate quality systems are in place in the company.
  • Oversee and monitor the change control system and contributes to the change control approval process.
  • Oversee and monitor the supplier qualification program as well as investigation any supplier complaints as necessary.
  • Oversee and monitor the internal audit program and contributes to its execution.
  • Manage and oversee incoming audits, including the management of the responses accordingly.
  • Participate as necessary in the auditing of suppliers.
  • Manage the pest control program.
  • Supervise employees who lead and facilitate quality systems activities and the respective improvement of these systems.
  • Manage the company’s training management system to perform training for new or existing staff and ensure that this is documented according to procedures.
  • Management and coordination of project implementation as deemed necessary by the company, concurrently ensuring business continuity.
  • Supervise and provide coordination to employees within the respective department, ensuring compliance with company’s procedures and policies and relevant regulatory laws and guidelines as required.
  • Set and ensure that company targets are met.
  • Ensure compliance with established procedures relevant to the EHS management system in line with the organization’s policies, procedures, international standards and local and EU regulations in the daily operation of the department.
  • Participate actively in case of an emergency situation requiring the activation of business continuity plans. To keep the principles of business continuity at the forefront in the management of the department.
  • Perform any other additional duties that may arise from time to time.

Preferred education, work experience and skills:

  • Organisation and planning skills, managing multiple demands and achieving results.
  • Good written and oral communication skills with particular emphasis on presentation skills.
  • Problem-solving, leadership, conflict management, and team-building skills in order to ensure a productive work environment and achievement of goals.
  • Strong organizational and motivational skills.
  • Able to present programs and information in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Able to adhere to targets / deadline.
  • Principles of environmental health and safety.
  • Computer programs and applications.
  • Mathematical and statistical skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in life science or another related field.
  • Minimum 3 years prior experience in quality.
  • QP status will be considered an asset.
