Job Description
We are currently seeking an IT Officer to join our client WasteServ.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing IT-related equipment at all Wasteserv sites;
- Be able to diagnose and troubleshoot issues (hardware and software);
- Installation and maintenance of telecommunication, security and access control systems / equipment;
- Be able to lay, terminate and install network cables and equipment;
- Provide remote assistance via TeamViewer;
- Writing documentation, reports and procedures in order to optimize the activities of the IT department;
- Knowledge of different Windows Based Platforms operating systems and Microsoft Suite;
- Perform any other IT-related duties which may be assigned from time to time;
- Maintain software to provide support to internal Wasteserv Users;
- Provide training and induction to users;
- Setting up computer equipment and accounts of new users;
- Management of IT and related stock;
- Procurement of IT-related equipment;
- Perform monitoring and management of IT services / software under the assigned Officer’s responsibility;
- Support the roll-out of new IT applications / equipment;
- Ability to read and interprets drawings and diagrams;
- Basic knowledge of low voltage systems;
- Must be able to work efficiently alone and in a team;
- Must be able to distinguish different colours, read small prints and hear audible sounds;
- Must be able to work at heights using a ladder or high-ups;
- Must be self-motivated with a positive approach;
- Must be able to work efficiently;
- Must be able to work alone and also in a group;
- Other tasks that may be required from time to time.
Qualifications, experience, and skills required
The selected candidate should:
- Be in possession of an MQF level 5 with no experience; or
- Be in possession of an MQF level 4 and 2 years of related work experience; or
- Be in possession of an MQF level 3 (5 O’ levels – grades 1-5) and 3 years of related work experience;
- Be in possession of an ECDL full certificate;
- Be able to understand, speak and write in English and Maltese;
- Have a valid driving license (B) to utilize the company van;
- Must have clean police conduct.
