Required Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

  • A degree in Computer Science and/or a Microsoft Certification
  • Certification in MCITP, MCTS, MCSA, MCSE, or equivalent. A Cisco CCNA will definitely be an asset
  • Undeniable analytical, technological strategy and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in Hyper-V Virtualization, administration and troubleshooting
  • Experience in Microsoft Windows Server administration and troubleshooting
  • Applied knowledge of system and application monitoring tools such as Zabbix, PRTG, Azure App Insights, Log Analytics etc.
  • Communication skills with the ability to deliver technical jargon to non-technical team members
  • The ability to work on own your initiative, with a minimum amount of supervision prioritising tasks and projects
  • Basic experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Linux based environments

Essential Job Functions:

  • Implementing, managing, troubleshooting and maintaining both internal and external IT systems and infrastructure
  • Performing setup, configuration and maintenance on existing and new hardware, peripherals and services.
  • Carrying out performance monitoring tests to identify any degradation in systems infrastructure while working with other teams to find solid solutions
  • Ensuring backup/recovery plans and resiliency strategies are in place to cater for business continuity
  • Researching innovative and automated solutions that will automate, as much as possible, new installations and specific configurations whilst maintaining the environment in a high availability and solid state
  • Proactively liaising with the Security Engineer to correct any anomalies after conducting security assessments on the infrastructure stack
  • Liaising with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution, and providing support for problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of issues
  • Ensuring system monitoring is performed daily and verifying the integrity together with availability of each respective solution
  • Managing activities on a day to day basis of operational services within the internal office to become oriented with the DevOps lifecycle
  • Implementing and monitoring systems availability where necessary to cap uptime to 99.999%
  • Contributing towards the planning and design of information/operational systems
  • Scheduling windows patching and upgrades on a regular basis
