Job Description

The Data Specialist has a background in data, efficiency, and accuracy. Your responsibilities include designing stable and reliable databases, and to develop, test, improve and maintain new and existing databases. A valuable contributor to the entire Database Development lifecycle ensuring a high quality, high availability data platform, that serves internal and external users alike. You also collaborate with administrators and clients to provide technical support and identify new requirements. Motivated to keep updated with the latest database trends and technologies to ensure optimum product quality.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Gathering user requirements and identifying new features to optimise and maintain legacy systems
  • Designing, developing, testing and implementing stable and reliable databases
  • Developing and supporting analytical and reporting applications
  • Designing and implementing technology best practices, guidelines and repeatable processes, then monitor and tune for performance
  • Providing Data Management support for both external and internal users, and gathering user requirements to identify new features
  • Working closely with DBAs, Data Architect, product developers and product manager to ensure functional and technical solutions meet the business requirements and service levels
  • Providing technical assistance and cross training to other team members
  • Modifying databases according to tickets and performing tests
  • Researching and suggesting new database products, services and protocols
  • Performing duties with moderate to low supervision

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:

  • 3+ years with MS BI technologies (On-Premise and Azure) and Data lifecycle project
  • Previous experience on TSQL and/or NoSQL in both querying and tuning
  • Proficiency with one or more reporting / dashboarding tools
  • Knowledge of .Net Framework, Javascript, HTML and so on
  • In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, security and monitoring)
  • Business analysis to gather requirements and translate into specifications (can be done with 3rd party providers)
  • Experience with a highly transactional, high volume data warehouse
  • Performance tuning (database)
  • Effective communication with 3rd party data providers

Desired Requirements:

  • BA/BSc in Computer Science or related field is preferable
  • Microsoft Certifications in subject area are favoured
  • Previous working experience within the iGaming vertical is preferred
