Job Description

Meeting Point Malta is a destination management company that over the years has succeeded in developing longstanding business relationships with the island’s top hospitality product and service providers. Meeting Point Malta is looking for a Groups Executive.

Key duties will include:

  • Ensure a thorough knowledge of the destinations’ culture, history and all the features that make tourists want to visit the destination.
  • Develop, maintain and improve relationships with the suppliers decision makers, sales and marketing and key staff in the operation.
  • Produce detailed proposals for client adapting the product to their needs and realities (including timelines, venues, suppliers, conditions, staffing and budgets).
  • Familiarise closely with clients’ set up and business model. Develop a strategy with assigned clients outlining clear objectives
  • Send out final quotations and itineraries to overseas tour operators.
  • Organise familiarisation trips for the clients making sure that expenditure on such publicity / educational initiatives do not exceed budgeted costs and ensure the most mileage out of every euro / dollar spent.
  • Manage and coordinate suppliers and all event logistics (for example, venue, catering and travel).
  • Coordinate suppliers, handle client queries and troubleshoot during the entirety of the  group trip whilst in Malta to ensure that all runs smoothly and clients are happy.
  • Willingness to work on non-working days and on weekends if necessary.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Manager or department Head.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have 3-4 years sales experience in a travel agency or tour operator and a sound knowledge of the local tourism scene, the suppliers and the people behind them.
  • Experience and knowledge of MICE and/or events.
  • MUST possess strong communication skills in English and French.
  • Have strong negotiation and problem solving skills.
  • Have strong time management and analytical skills.
  • Be able to work under pressure and within a team.
