Job Description
Overall purpose
Responsible for the generation of proposals, tenders, pricing and contract negotiations to develop and retain business and ensuring the timely and consistent delivery of core company services to our clients as well as planning, coordinating and delivery of the business development activity.
Main responsibilites
- Facilitate the growth of the business to achieve targets and improve the company’s market position.
- Examine risks and potential opportunities for the company to meet its final goals.
- Identify new business opportunities and prospects in territories of responsibility.
- Contact potential clients and set up meetings to discuss the company’s services.
- Keep abreast with market developments and anticipate possible market entry barriers.
- Analyse market strategies, trends, deal requirements, and financials; evaluating options; resolve internal priorities; recommend investments.
- Develop and implement business development strategies.
- Maintain excellent relationships with key customers and present new services to enhance the existing relationship.
- Communicate to key internal departments, all detailed information relating to the client to ensure that all departments are aware of the negotiations and agreements with our clients.
- In conjunction with the Sales team, aid in the compilation and submission of pre-qualification documentation for tenders and proposals.
- Prepare proposals, tenders and pricing for submission to clients, ensuring all client proposals are in line with company policies and procedures.
- Understand the company’s value proposition in response to bids and produce professionally written, clear, concise, and compelling proposal content that clearly articulates the company’s value proposition.
- Review, critique, and challenge existing or written content submitted by the stakeholder group to ensure key challenges or specific questions have been addressed on bespoke proposals.
- Seek approval from Senior Management on finalised bid response(s).
- Develop and negotiate contracts whilst integrating contract requirements with business operations.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of all the services and pricing strategies provided by the company.
- Ensure documentation and reporting on all key client visits and major events.
- Planning, preparing and delivering promotional material as necessary.
- Any other duties, commensurate with the skills and experience of the employee that the management may require from time to time.
Requirements
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Knowledgeable in the use of MS Office tools.
- Strong time management / prioritisation and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Initiative-taker, ability to work on own initiative.
- Capable of combining commercial skills with technical knowledge.
- Ability to anticipate issues and develop plans accordingly.
Experience
- Proven record in a Business Development or consultative sales role.
- A background in medical / emergency services would be advantageous.
- Capable of negotiating and concluding business deals with a proven record of profitable sales growth.
- Previous experience in managing corporate clients and presenting to key internal / external customers.
- Strong relationship management skills and ability to build networks of internal and external contacts.
- Ability to tackle problems and inconsistencies using a logical and systematic approach.
- Experience working in an international environment would be preferable.
- Knowledgeable and experienced in writing proposals and attending to tenders in a complex business environment.
- Capable of combining commercial skills with technical knowledge.
- Willing to travel globally.
Qualifications
- University degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or equivalent.
- Ideally educated to a degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
