This is where you come in. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper you will be responsible for the day to day running of our Laundry department.
Responsibilities:
- Takes responsibility for the functions of the linen room.
- Leads the team members assigned to the linen room.
- Ensure that laundry employees comply with hotel uniform and grooming standards.
- Responsible for the employees’ uniform programme.
- Picks up and delivers guest laundry as necessary.
- Ensure that the par stock levels are in place and controlled.
- Ensures that any ironing / pressing of garments is done.
- Ensure all dirty linen is separated and counted before going out for cleaning.
- Receives and issues linen to all departments.
- Sorts out discarded linen, keeps a record and informs the Executive Housekeeper of the discarded linen.
- Assists in inventories and in stock taking.
- Performs any alterations needed.
- Ensure compliance with legislated health and safety requirements within the workplace.
The ideal candidate will:
- Has similar experience in a four or five-star hotel.
- Have excellent communication skills and is able to communicate well in English.
- Have sewing knowledge.
- Have strong leadership skills.
- Be a team player.
- Be organised.
- Take initiative.
- Be flexible with regard to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
